and, really... what makes it even funnier is that people are willing to comment and thumb up deals for pocket change.

My guess is as long as they have been posting deals they have a big following of other members who upvote and support it. This place is a popularity contest. And is montetized and has lots of staff-posted deals. Also many deals do get posted in advance such as for Costco's upcoming sales items and coupon books.
Someone else would have posted it had he not, as is evidenced from the reposts you will be seeing pop up well in advance. I see one already by another non-staffer. Why hate on members posting deals at all? In advance means more warning to set your calendar. Are you begrudging them the popularity for posting a very popular deal in advance? How about we simply support deals being posted that can benefit us, regardless? If not, I see no reason to complain about it.
