Fyi Dyson refurbished is not as new as Apple refurbished. Hairdryer might look new but parts would look used.

This thing is pretty nifty. It keeps a constant temperature so your not going to get burnt like a regular one. It definitely saves you time being more efficient in that regard.

Cheapest price (refurb or otherwise) since 2020

Last best price was Nordstrom Rack at $280 Black Friday and a bunch of "sales" at Dyson for $320-340

This is $250 with two years of All State (probably around $50-60 extra if buying new for warranty) - great deal!

I gave the deal a TU because it's a good price on this product. That said, I'm just not convinced the Dyson hair dryers justify their price premiums.

Yes, they're ultra cool modern-looking with that donut hole in the middle, but what I look for is a hair dryer that has lower db rating… something quieter. My hair dresser/barber actually had some hearing loss from being around hair dryers all the time. And for women, I'd echo the same concern since they spend much more time than men with these hair dryers right next to their ears…

Dyson hair dryer gives a distinct sound. Not sure whether it's a good or a bad sound though. My hair does feel different when using it, that's for sure.

Relative to other hair dryers, this is pretty quiet. This doesn't reach levels where it's hazardous over extended periods of time, like your barber experienced. In any case, I have a few pairs of reusable ear plugs on hand - always use them when I blow dry just to be on the safe side, since I have tinnitus from poor choices in my youth.

Yep, I looked at the Dyson website after this supersonic deal was posted for another color from Dyson direct. The Dyson website says it's 77 dbs, and most hair dryers are 80-90 dbs according to a quick google search and what appeared to be a reliable source. What Dyson does not say, though, is what db rating it is for each speed (ie, from low to high). I have a Panasonic hair dryer and can tell you that the noise level is lower than your avg hair dryer and the noise level on the low setting is actually quite quiet... at least for a hair dryer!
