noticed what seems new to me:

For linking Discover card to Amazon account, Amazon is forwarding me to Discover's site, to log into my Discover account and permit Amazon to get the cardholder name, email, etc from Discover.

Is this the typical procedure?

I tried to do it and it said I had no Discover rewards so I could not activate. Will Amazon let me wait until the end of my billing cycle when I have actual Discover rewards and then let me activate this promo?
