When did it come to this that this is a good deal. I mean, I know it is, but it used to be you could get 4 packs for $10, and even 5 for $10 on the mid summer sale (this is at Shoprite in northeast, I'm sure there were other stores in country with similar sales)
I read an explanation a few months ago.

Throughout COVID, we've seen massive effects on the economy, resulting in inflation. Soda manufacturers observed that as prices went up, people continued to steadily buy soda at roughly the same rate; many things that got more expensive saw people scale back their consumption accordingly, but apparently not for soda -- that was unphased.

I'm sure there are economic factors involved in it being more expensive, but part of it is that the manufacturers don't have incentive to drop the price because people have continued to buy it at high prices.
Because Target makes their real profit of those people who just grab a 12 pack off the shelf and pay $7.50 for it.

I was just in Safeway today and a gal ahead of me bought two 12 packs of soda at $10 each. Even though they have an offer this week for Buy 2 Get 2 Free. Some folks just don't care.

Soda prices have gone up like 50% over the past 4-5 years steadily. I was actually just thinking about this the other day as a 90s-early 00s kid that grew up with a kitchen stocked with 24 pks.

Sounds like a good deal, but you forgot the part about having to stand upside down and walk into the store on your hands. With your eyes closed. In the rain. Being chased by a dog.
Seriously, why can's they just sell it at a reasonable price without having to join this, and trick that?

It's crazy how aluminum was worth more than gold at one point. Royals would use aluminum utensils and now it's used for one time use beverage containers.

Soda = bad for you. Price went up, stopped buying. Surprisingly enough don't miss it. Winning!

I work retail. My executive in food never cared about pop being empty because, it was not a big money maker for the store. I was told that the company isn't making a lot of money off it. It's the soda companies that are making a huge profit from it. Ive always heard Starbucks had the worst reputation because, they have a 90% comp. on average per drink.
