Look, when I give my daughter her bath and I have to dry her hair after so she doesn't go to sleep with wet hair, it's one of the worst times of my life. She hates it and it takes forever. Is spending this kind of money (which is a lot for me) going to make a marked difference in the amount of time to dry hair? Or is it expensive because it is better on your hair? I'd love to get this for my wife and to dry my kids hair, if it's that much better than the best selling $100-ish hair dryer on Amazon.

Look, when I give my daughter her bath and I have to dry her hair after so she doesn't go to sleep with wet hair, it's one of the worst times of my life. She hates it and it takes forever. Is spending this kind of money (which is a lot for me) going to make a marked difference in the amount of time to dry hair? Or is it expensive because it is better on your hair? I'd love to get this for my wife and to dry my kids hair, if it's that much better than the best selling $100-ish hair dryer on Amazon.

There are a fair number of reviews of this online and many head-to-head comparisons. If you're just in the market for a good hair dryer then this probably isn't the best bang for your buck.

But if you gotta have a Dyson then this isn't a bad price.

Good deal for what it is, but I do think Dyson hair dryers are generally overpriced. That said, one thing to consider on the positive side is that most hair dryers are have a decibel rating between 80-90. This one comes in at only 77 db, according to Dyson. That makes this significantly quiter than your average $20 Walmart hair dryer (or most other hair dryers for that matter).

While overkill for most purposes, this isn't a normal hair dryer that Amazon sells for $20. Professionals use these in salons. If you want top of the line, it is this or IQ2.

Lowest price I have seen on it.

My two cents. It's expensive but I wash my hair every day. For something I use every day, it's worth the slight benefit of drying hair more efficiently. Over time, that time saved adds up. After using the Dyson hair dryer, it's apparent how much better using the Dyson is to dry hair compared to a $20 hair dryer.

My particular one's AC adapter block started buzzing (when not in use) after years of it continually plugged in. Seems to work fine still. The on/off switch occasionally doesn't work. If it died, I'd get this deal to replace it.
