Wd40 works too. All these product still require elbow grease

WD40, kerosene, and zippo lighter fluid (though naphtha is the main ingredient in zippo/robison and 128oz is like 20.00 at Lowes)... all of these will remove tar, grease, and bugs.

Note: love bugs are acidic and need to be removed ASAP, or they can ruin paint.

I prefer Stoners. Less elbow grease needed than other brands I've tried. Let it sit for about 10 - 15 minutes in the shade before wiping.

For chewing gum, we use peanut butter. Rub it over it and let it sit 5 mins. Then start pulling it off with a napkin or rag.

If it's just stuck and not really embedded into the fibers of the clothing, put it in the freezer, get it frozen solid, pull the gum off.

As someone who cares about your clear coat, never use WD40 or petroleum distillates on your paint. Used car dealerships use it to shine up the car knowing the paint will fade so badly in a few weeks after the sale.
