That's a pretty cool concept like the touchbar but is it actually useful?

For very specific use cases where a smaller secondary screen used to hold a specific widget, or timeline for scrubbing etc yes. But for everyday, you sacrifice the majority of your ergos with a keyboard at the bottom where your wrists should go, a tiny trackpad on the side, to make room for a half screen.

I admire the innovative spirit, but can't imagine typing in that cramped keyboard. If you really need a secondary display, you are better off buying a portable monitor. I just picked up a 13.5" 3:2 aspect ratio 2K display for only $60. It's super light at only 0.8lbs and works with a single usb-c cable when attached to my laptop. When I used it with my LG Gram 15, the total weight of the laptop and the display (2.5 + 0.8 = 3.3lbs) is half a pound less than that of this dual screen Zenbook, and I get a larger main display and a much larger secondary display, not to mention the 80Wh battery on the Gram.

is it true that asus has real poor quality control? plz guidance
nice math, but I don't think this is how you'd calculate the overall screen size. they are diagonal length... I've never seen a 27 inch laptop in my life. T

They keyboard is truly much better than one thinks. Until you try it, don't knock it too much.

It's a preference of course. Nevertheless , since I can't use track pads with any laptop, even Mac, I find the keyboard surprisingly preferable for certain scenarios.

Being right handed , using thumb for occasional track use is very natural.

Either way, it's either not as bad as you think, or you might enjoy it.

If you absolutely love and/or VERY comfortable with normal laptop layouts, then suggest don't bother.

If you are like me and never quite enjoyed normal layout despite years of using it, then DO give it a try.

Under $1200 , id consider, and $1000 or less I'd buy it

There's a great review about this laptop here youtube.com/watch?v=mue6Did6fkA

It's an interesting device, kinda niche but if it suits your needs, it looks to be great.

I had one of these and returned it. The laptop is fun to use, it's heavy, battery life was poor, and it was loud IIRC - it's able to cool well because the 2nd screen is angled and air is able to pass through underneath. The keyboard was par to subpar, the trackpad didn't take a lot of time to get used to. The keyboard felt slightly cramped. I think it might be worth $1300-1400 after tax, the OLED screen was not bad - and if you're a programmer, it was nice to keep notes on the secondary screen. I paid MSRP for it and I didn't think it was worth that.

I think with it being a little open air concept and heavy I felt like I had to be overly cautious with it vs. my Thinkpad and MacBook Air.

Things that matter to me in a laptop are weight, battery life, keyboard quality, non fragility and being quiet - in some order. For me a loud laptop doesn't work for me, I can understand if we're gaming but non-gaming I don't want to hear the fans when I'm typing in one note.

Also be weary of BH Photo Video's laptop return policy, I could be wrong but last time I bought a laptop from them, you can't return it if you opened it.
