It's a preference of course. Nevertheless , since I can't use track pads with any laptop, even Mac, I find the keyboard surprisingly preferable for certain scenarios.
Being right handed , using thumb for occasional track use is very natural.
Either way, it's either not as bad as you think, or you might enjoy it.
If you absolutely love and/or VERY comfortable with normal laptop layouts, then suggest don't bother.
If you are like me and never quite enjoyed normal layout despite years of using it, then DO give it a try.
Under $1200 , id consider, and $1000 or less I'd buy it
It's an interesting device, kinda niche but if it suits your needs, it looks to be great.

I think with it being a little open air concept and heavy I felt like I had to be overly cautious with it vs. my Thinkpad and MacBook Air.
Things that matter to me in a laptop are weight, battery life, keyboard quality, non fragility and being quiet - in some order. For me a loud laptop doesn't work for me, I can understand if we're gaming but non-gaming I don't want to hear the fans when I'm typing in one note.
Also be weary of BH Photo Video's laptop return policy, I could be wrong but last time I bought a laptop from them, you can't return it if you opened it.
