Wow, the reviews on this are terrible and it is not cheap. Suspicious amount of TU.

Seems to me the original price is super inflated as you can find similar sized units for half the price. Every dehumidifier I have purchased with the pump option (this is not one) has failed in a year. The last one was a Frigidaire. Now I just buy refurbs from Sylvane and I pay a lot less for units that will just break anyways.

Frigidaires are good if you don't mind your system lasting 1 summer.
I'm on replacement #3 after buying one in 2020. At least their support overlooks the original date for the 1 yr warranty that's on it and not the replacement itself (which according to terms, just assumes the original 1 yr)

Recent reviews are pretty scathing with many of the positive reviewers not being that positive or saying they've only owned it for a short period of time.

Has anyone tried the 50 pint Hisense model that Costco sells? Saw it at the store this past weekend and was tempted to buy it. It's $180 in store, $190 online.

I have the Hisense for 3 years now, I have it running all year round in the basement. So far it's still going

I bought one when it was on sale for $150 in April. I'm happy with how it works especially for the price I paid.

I don't have this 60 pint Frigidaire but I do have the 50 pint and it's been great 5 years running with minimal maintenance. I'm not sure if they have cheapened the product or if the 50 pint was great and this one is garbage but Frigidaire used to be the top dog as far as I know. If you are looking for a deal Menards has a 40 pint Pelonis on sale for $149 after sale and rebate. I have no clue about it other than they make other electronic devices that seem to last.

I have two dehumidifiers that I got from Costco for a song ($159 and $179 respectively). The first one was a Whirlpool that's been *awesome* for four years, but is ironically under a recall so I had to put it down 😭. I got $310 back under the buyback program to buy the Hisense.

The Hisense they sell now for $190 has been sold there in prior years. I just got it and am about to set it up. My mom has it set up from last year and it runs without issues.

The selling point is the pump. Runs continuously and drains condensate into my sink overflow. If there's no pump and you don't have a drain in your floor, just don't bother.

Don't buy. Bought 2, and both gave the unrepairable EC error code within 13 months. Warranty is only good for 1 year. No luck with customer service. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

As an anecdote, I've had my Hisense of similar size for about 3 years now. Run it daily during showers and it's been flawless and extremely effective
