This is their cheaper option, not the one that came on Kickstarter. This printer is amazing, haven't turned my prusa on in months because this is just so much faster. Just ordered my second one so feel free to ask any questions.

I'm confused by this, as Bambu has undercut the competition on pricing (Prusa), and delivered a more advanced machine as well. How is that like Dyson?

Also, didn't Dyson basically invent the high powered stick vacuum market and pretty consistently win performance tests against both traditional vaccums as well as other cheaper models?

Wait, so if all you want is reliability, consistency and ease of use then wouldn't the P1P be all those things? You said nothing about printing with exotics or mentioned anything else that requires you to get the X1C, so why would you want to pay double?
I wasn't comparing the two Bambu printers in any way. I never even made mention of the P1P. I want to X1C because I know I'm going to want to print more difficult materials, I don't want to mess with upgrading later, printing or installing an enclosure, and I want to screen which isn't upgradable on the P1P.

Is this the most overhyped 3d printer of all time? $1k MSRP, $700 kickstarter, tons of marketing in every website & youtube channel. Now at $600. Does it not sell?
Have 7 FDM printers and 6 resin. My Bambu X1 is my go to filament printer. Flawless functionality for 4 months. Ordered a P1P today. These are the first in a new generation of printers.

Ahh, Bambu Lab, the Dyson of 3d printing

10% R&D

90% advertising
Do they really print twice or 3 times faster than the competition? Then they need more 90% advertising because people still don't know about it.

Shoot, I have 2 MK3s and 1 Voron V0. This makes it more and more hard for me to justify for a Voron v2 :p. Maybe by BlackFriday it will be $499?

I said that fast printing speeds and fast cooling affect how the material binds to itself. Meaning at those speeds the filament itself is the bottleneck.
If you watch cnckitchen's vid on speed/strength the limiting factor is flow/heat not the filament. The problem with the bambu is the closed source hotend but as with all things aliexpress comes to the rescue with a CHT-esque nozzle and a hotend that can use it.

I'm on the fence pulling the trigger on this for that reason. Not being able to order replacements off amazon instead relying on Bambu directly is kind of a bummer. I've read Bambu is akin to apple in that if you can/are happy living in that ecosystem it's great. But yeah I run klipper on my current printers and no open source is another thing holding me back.
It's also sold at Microcenter if you have one nearby.

The random hate comments on this printer are hilarious, the one thing they have in common is none of the people have any valid or objective criticism about what is actually wrong with the printer.
I don't have a p1p but I do stray over to the bambu sub on Reddit. They have customer service issues, parts that they either can't or won't sell. Warped beds they won't replace.

They aren't perfect, in other words. The thing that keeps me in the prusa camp is that the founders are former dji exec's. And I have owned dji drones. Oem Spare parts for them are pretty limited a year or two later. And their answer used to be the trade-up program that is now discount. And with the printers I wonder how long the hotends and beds will be available and once they aren't. With a non open source machine. Then what?

Are we just going to ignore the fact that this is a P1P thread?

The price drop was in response to the Creality K1 as it currently lists for $599.

No offense but everyone I've even known with a larger voron always needs to spend more time tweaking than printing. Plus 2k for a kit is crazy when this is 600. Not that I'll be buying one

I've been wanting a P1P for a while. How big of a deal is the crappy display? Can you just use the smartphone app for the user interface instead?

Ive barely used the display. Every option on the display seems to be in the desktop app. I haven't used the display at all.
