Open box is basically used or store display when it comes to secondipity or pretty much any place that is not a retailer.

For example, open box from best buy means that it could be a store display (can be quite abused or not so good) or customer return (quite good). From a non retailer like secondipity, they are not going to have customer returns (at least not new ones) so you are getting store displays (from a third party) and/or used products (again from third party).
