Different vendor. Don't have to click on it if you already know the other deal exists.

Save your money SSD prices will continue to drop. These drives last far longer than regular mechanical drives.
Which slows down supply over demand in the long term. Most files these days are streamed and you don't need massive
amounts of data at home anymore. Since, internet speeds keep on increasing. I see 4TB drives coming down to $50 in a year or two.
I'm at 60TB and growing. Different Strokes for different folks.

It's a good sgn seeing 4TB in this range, I don't really need it right now but it would be nice to move my 2TB NVMe to boot and drop this in for steam.

I doubt that. Micron, Samsung, SK Hynix, et al. will cut NAND production or shift it to enterprise products. Maybe we'll see ~30% YOY reductions, but on more expensive products than outdated 2.5" drives.

I recall there have been repeated settlements over price fixing in the memory market. If you buy an SSD after the collusion happens, you could be entitled to a small settlement award later!

FYI 4tb M.2 drives are now around $200, and 10x the speed of these. Some are even under $200 now. No reason to get 2.5" drives anymore unless you have no slots remaining, and dont want an extra M.2 enclosure.
The reason is price. 10x the speed isn't especially useful for, say, a media drive. Why pay even a little more if you don't need the extra speed?

I feel kind of stupid now for actually thinking that storage will cost more in two years. Thank you for setting me straight! I also thought I needed this storage today, but what's a few-year wait when you can save another $100?

And what's data really anyway? Some crap that nobody in the world except me cares about, so can't be that important. I think I'll just start overwriting the older stuff, which should hold me over until my new drive ships some time during the Black Friday week of 2025.
