There hasn't been a shortage for GPUs for years now and it still cost $1600?

The amount of salt in this thread (and any other GPU thread) is astounding. Eragorn definitely called it.

$1599 is the MSRP, no hot deal here. Pandemic is over, video cards should not be selling at MSRP.

You're the 5th post in this thread. It was at best lightly salted at that time

21 post downvotes is far from lightly salted... same for all of the other threads. And someone saying the 4xxx series cards suck? Laughable. I'll allow it for the majority, but the 4090 is an incredible device for it's price, time of release, and considering inflation and past premiere card pricing. Save the salt for your dollar store frozen french fries bro, you'll need it.

What? the 4090 is not amazing for it's price, and in fact it's the worst value and only ever recommended if you want the best possible performance. The 4070 ti is amazing for the price. The 4090 only a slight upgrade up from the 4070 ti in most cases, and only really shines in 4k. Even then, its no where near double the peformance at twice the price. the 4090 will likely be outshined by a 5070 ti which will also likely be around 800 when it comes out.

You're clearly not looking at real data. The 4070ti (second only to the 4060ti) is the laughing stock of the generation. Nvidia literally changed the name from 4080 12GB to 4070ti to avoid backlash and criticism. And guess what? The 4070ti is barely any advancement at all over the previous 3080 (which is what it should be compared to, and what it was originally intended to be compared to). Now compare that marginal difference to the 4090 vs 3090. Both cost nearly the same, and the difference is night and day. Anyone with a brain knows that the 4090 is the only card "worth it" this generation.
