biggest difference i think there is will be the ability to send texts? i'm guessing have them read as well. that was sorely missing from the original.

only reason to upgrade would be that it's smaller. Other than that it's the same.

Needs to connect and remain connected to your android or iPhone with Alexa app, with a generous data cap since everything is streamed. Need to leave the alexa app open in the background for it to work. Like leave it in the app switcher multi tasking, force closing the app will break the connection.
Connects automatically without you having to open the alexa app everytime.
It can be used as a bluetooth transmitter if you don't want to leave the app in the background.

I've used it with Smasung S series and iPhones and it works perfectly. Had some issues with OnePlus.

I don't know that it is. I think it still has the same sized base but they added in a separate mic array that is easily placed closer to you.
