Per BoardGameGeek:

Splendor Marvel:
- you play to 16 [points] (instead of 15)
- you must acquire a card from each level (as opposed to having no such restriction)
- you can also score points for the most cards with a given icon on them (as opposed to the absence of such icon and scoring condition)

You can play "regular splendor" with the Marvel game, but you cannot play "Marvel Splendor" with the regular collection.

My wife and I basically wore out the cardboard box from playing the original Splendor. It is a very lightweight game, but it works very well at all player counts. It makes an excellent game to play with your spouse, and also with other family and friends. Games are quick, tokens are satisfying (think heavier poker chips), and the strategy, while simple, is still good enough for advanced players.

FYI There is a new Splendor Duel, which is a 2P variant with more depth.
