Oh. Well if that's the reason. Yeah that's the way. It's just more convenient if you have 2 PS5 or 2 PS4. U can play the game with 2 profiles with only buying the game with one account😁. You can even play together!

If you have a PS5 and deciding between the PS5 edition vs PS4 cross gen edition. Go with the PS5. It will download the digital PS5 version but every time you turn on your PS5. It will to install the ps4 version from the disc. Its annoying as fark.

PS5 games never run off the disc. Everything is fully installed to the internal SSD. The Disc only acts as a key, so the disc must be in for you to play it.
But yes it will save some bandwidth in downloading the game.

First point and last point are valid, but literally nothing on PS5 runs off of disc. First time you put the disc in it will copy it to the SSD.

It's impossible to get fast load times off of the disc, which is why it requires using internal storage no matter what.
