Let's start with she's reading. Yeah!!. If you never get anywhere else, there's always the potential for her to get there on her own as long as she keeps it up.
What type of mindless reading tends to get the best response?
As a stab in the dark, I'd say science fiction encompasses everything: math, science, vocabulary, creative imagination, social commentary, etc.
EDIT - belatedly it occurred to me that it depends on where she lives, too. Banned books are actually a thing in our world now. The unintended consequence here may be a lesson in rebellion or conformity.
And I cannot begin to tell you how very sad it makes me to feel the need to point this out.
can someone suggest a set (doesn't even have to be one of the sets in this deal) for older teens that can actually improve vocabulary and comprehension in addition to providing enjoyment. basically i have someone who devours fiction that is the equivalent of empty calories and i would like to redirect her to a healthier menu.

Looks like it's a trend now I haven't seen any free books lately on here except for 50 cents $0.75 and what not I mean I don't mind spending it on a good book but it's funny how everything is gone up even the free books I guess it's not funny kind of annoying
