Have had one of these for a year now and it's simply amazing for the price.

Clear text, great colors, HDR is really great, good blacks, good refresh rate and no ghosting. Outside of wanting oled, couldn't ask for better performance

No, it is just the panel type. Each panel type has different strengths and weaknesses. I prefer VA over IPS.

In for one of these, as I've been looking to upgrade from two 1080p 24" monitors when I put together a new build in a few weeks.

Also, my Bank of America Rewards credit card had a 5% reward on Dell/Intel purchases available to be activated, so it could be worth checking your available rewards options prior to purchase.
How do you plan to use two with the curve/VA panel?

How would you seamlessly switch between two PCs (say personal and work) using this monitor?

I see there is an upstream USB but I don't understand how that would be used to switch over the peripherals connected to the USB ports.
I would not get this monitor if you want to seamlessly switch often. It only has one displayport so the second computer would need to be hooked up with HDMI. You'd also need to have a USB switch or unplug/move/replug the USB cable each time you switched inputs. It might be fine running two simultaneously with Picture by Picture side-by-side with their own keyboards and mice.

A better option would be something along the lines of a Gigabyte M32U that has a USB-C KVM feature for one-cable. Even better would be another model that can give more power over the same C connection.

I had Gigabytes 27" version and the KVM would constantly not be recognized and their support was complete ass. I currently use a $40 usb 3.0 dock with PD and just transition from work PC to personal and use my laptops USBs as a hub.

Not a bad deal but personally waiting on 34" OLED UWs to hit the $500 range to bite

How does this compare to the P3421W for $408? Aside from VA vs IPS, guess it's really apples to oranges? P3421W for work or the monitor in this deal for gaming?

Dell 34 Inch Ultrawide , WQHD (Wide Quad High Definition), Curved USB-C Monitor (P3421W), 3440 x 1440 at 60Hz, 3800R Curvature, 1.07 Billion Colors, Adjustable, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MWY9THF

that is a BADASS looking gaming monitor. Does anyone have any experience playing Val on UWs? also, this is the perfect time for all the Amex Plat holders to spend their dell credits.
I have a 32" 1440p LG IPS 165hz, 34 inch VA 1440p 144hz from Gigabyte and 43" 4K VA 144 hz from Samsung. Of the three the 34" is the one I least like. When playing games on 34" monitor the intro scenes play at 4:3 aspect ratio, the icons on windows look a bit messy, and overall just not a monitor I like. Samsung is drool worthy, more so as from a scaling standing 16:9 aspect ratio monitors scale well with games, YouTube etc.

I'm not planning to use two. I'll use this 34" ultrawide by itself and if I find that I still need a second monitor, I'll likely get a 27" 16:9 1440p panel to mount above it.

USB-C is great if you want to use a laptop and don't have a docking station. The P3421W also has a built in KVM switch (assuming one of your devices supports usb-c). Otherwise the op'a monitor looks better. One thing about the P3421W that I am not sure of is how slight the curve is. I think I prefer a tighter radius personally.

You'd have to unplug/plug the USB cable.

If the only peripherals you have are a mouse and keyboard, there are wireless Logitech options that allow you to switch between multiple devices.

Would this work well for a MacBook Air M2? Will connect to a dell docking station which is then connected to the MacBook.

I bought this monitor during Black Friday for the same price and absolutely love it! Currently playing Street Fighter 6 on wide-screen!

Can I play old pc games on this or will it be pixelated/fill part of the screen?

I've deployed numerous of these, they are pretty damn nice for the price. Using them in office and they don't look like stereotypical gaming monitors, end users love them. There is a blue light that shines down you can turn on and off. There is or was a model of this that had built in audio, this one does not even though it the options it is there (weird).

If you get one turn color mode on to RTS and adjust brightness/contrast, looks great.

My experience with VA panels:

Deeper blacks.
Terrible smearing.
Screen flicker when using adaptive sync (goes away when you turn off gsync/freesync).
Still get light bleed.

Apart from the deeper blacks, there's literally nothing advantageous for gamers on VA panels. I've heard the Samsung VAs do a better job with the smearing but I haven't tried one of those.

For my money, never again. I'd rather have a really good IPS than anything else, even OLED (until they really handle burn-in issues). VA is for folks who want a big screen display but don't want to spend much for it.
