I was totally going to buy this but I saw the weight being 2.07 lbs. I think there's a Netgear for 2.04 lbs for only $70 more. I think we can all agree that weight should be top consideration when buying a home router.

I run the orbi pro 6 (rbx80 or something) as my APs and an opnsense router and every time i have to update the router, the APs completely drop and even my LAN is inaccessible. After things restart all the devices connected to the APs over wifi have issues getting connected. Anyone else have this issue and does anyone know if this is ALL netgear stuff or just Orbi? Paid a lot for the orbi but this is so annoying i might try something else.

I have a Google Nest Wifi Mesh system and absolutely hate it. Constant connection drops due to the main router overheating when I have full network congestion for more than ~5 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous that I have to manually throttle things like FTP transfers on my network. I understand that the Pro is better, but for the price they're asking it better cook me dinner and give me a blowjob. I'm likely going to just go to Ubiquity, spend a small fortune, and call it a day for what will probably be a decade before needing to upgrade again.

Edit: Also, if you're using an Oculus it has tons of trouble when it comes to keeping stable connections with mesh networks. IMO, if that's what you have for your headset you might want to look into a second router dedicated just to that. Netgear often has a WiFi6 router on sale for only $30 and It's been serving me well as an access point dedicated just for my Oculus. You will have to tinker with settings on your modem, Google router, and the second router to avoid a double (or even triple) NAT, which will also cause tons of connection issues
After suffering Google Mesh for 5 years, I moved to TP Link Deco. Best decision ever. No more dropped internet.

Weird way to say 90 days, does it support hardwired backhauling?

Buy a router depends on it's weight. What is the point ?

I have 2 of these in my house, one on each floor. The 6ghz network is basically unusable unless you are within eyesight of the router, but then it is incredibly fast. My roommates and I have constant stutter on our phones using the 5ghz band causing apps like Instagram to fail to load content, and chrome tabs can take a few seconds to start loading but when they do start everything loads very quickly. The 2.4ghz band seems to be the most reliable but is too slow to use comfortably. I would love this router if devices(mainly smartphones) had the ability to either connect to the 6ghz and 5ghz bands simultaneously or to switch between the bands faster but unfortunately this is not currently the case.
This is my personal review of this device but I also am wondering if anyone has any insights on why we are having trouble with the 5ghz connectivity?

I've been using this router along with Linksys Velop mesh units for almost 2 years. My internet speed is Gigabit (940up/960down typically). Close to this unit, on 6E I normally see about 840up/down on my Galaxy Ultra 23. My desktop is plugged in directly where I see full speed. In the past year, I've had to restart maybe once or twice and it's been very reliable. I have a second unit I haven't plugged in yet that I'm going to use for wired backhaul to plug in multiple devices.

I dont trust ANY manufacturer's claims as to router weight. The FIRST thing I do is slap that sucker on a scale to validate the weight is as stated. Are you saying you don't weigh your router? REALLY?! Who DOESN'T do that? They'll sneak in an ounce here, a milligram there, whenever they can, on unsuspecting non-router-weighers..

Would this let me better control access to Internet for my kids (ie. disable at nighttime)? I also want to change my DNS to OpenDNS which my ATT supplied router/modem won't let me do.

Looking to run two of these in a mesh config. is wired backhaul generally preferrable over using one of the wireless bands or wireless performance pretty decent?

No, you should use a $10 openwrt based router bypass DNS from att gateway
