At least this lock has a regular key so you could've still got in with a key
I currently use this on my Airbnb in Florida and highly recommend it.
Main feature of these Schlages is digital features, expiring codes, etc, ideal for an Airbnb, and having a backup regular key lock which many of these locks miss.
I have a backup lock box with a key in case a guest ever runs into lock issues.

The killer feature of this new PLUS version mostly comes if you're in the Apple ecosystem.
You can manage the lock BOTH through the Schlage app AND through HomeKit. This lets my property management company manage the lock as normal through the app, but it let's me use my iPhone and Apple Watch to unlock the door when we use it.
I've been so happy with it, I'm considering pulling the trigger for my main home, and was waiting for prime day deals might get on this earlier now.

I think good locks are worth their price. I see people in CA living in 2 million dollars home and expensive furnishing buying 10 dollar locks at Home Depot
A locksmith once told me that keys just get in the way.

Will this lock open as you are approaching it, in case you have your hands full with grocery bags, etc?

This would be my #1 feature requirement from a smart lock. Anyone who owns this lock, please chime in. Thank you.

FYI Lowes Coupons work on this item since it's not "on sale" on the site. I used 10% off to get it down to $237.50.

I don't have any extra coupons. I purchased one on 3rd party site for $2.55.
Would love a link if you don't mind!

Thanks

Does anyone have this lock and what do they think of this lock ? Good price ?
I have this lock and really like it. Looks premium and has never let me down. Change batteries every year roughly. The only slight issue I have is that the WIFI feature basically stopped working for some reason, but I'm used to just using it for the keypad and the Z-WAVE/Bluetooth whatever still works so I haven't really missed not having the WIFI, but it does make letting guests in remotely slightly more challenging (however you can just create a guest code and share it with them).

Only if you touch your phone or watch face to it. I have had my hands full and just stick my wrist out at it while holding bags no problem

Since you have the app on your phone , you can open the lock from your car before you head to your front door.

Batteries last much longer if you connect through thread vs. Wi-Fi
Through thread? Can you expand on this? I'm willing to try.

"It provides room for four AA batteries, which Schlage says can last up to six months when the lock is used on Wi-Fi or up to a year if you use it with Thread. I've been testing the lock on my primary entrance for nearly two months, and the Apple Home app reports it has 82 percent battery life remaining."

If it connects to a nearby thread router or border router, like Apple TV, or HomePod.

Have all the people asking for the coupon site forgotten how to use google? A popular one is literally posted in the thread.

Schlage has lifetime warranty. If the finish tarnishes or mechanical or electrical failure just call the 800 number and they will troubleshoot over video phone. If it's truly a failure they will send you a replacement. I've been using a Schlage Connect for almost 10 years and had them replace it twice only due to finish tarnishing from the last couple hurricane storms.

The lifetime warranty is only for the finish and mechanics. The electronics part is only THREE years.

How about for long term rentals?
I think the problem with long term rentals is the wifi. It will likely change when you have tenants move in and I doubt you would sign up for short term service before you have tenants
