At least this lock has a regular key so you could've still got in with a key
I currently use this on my Airbnb in Florida and highly recommend it.
Main feature of these Schlages is digital features, expiring codes, etc, ideal for an Airbnb, and having a backup regular key lock which many of these locks miss.
I have a backup lock box with a key in case a guest ever runs into lock issues.

The killer feature of this new PLUS version mostly comes if you're in the Apple ecosystem.
You can manage the lock BOTH through the Schlage app AND through HomeKit. This lets my property management company manage the lock as normal through the app, but it let's me use my iPhone and Apple Watch to unlock the door when we use it.
I've been so happy with it, I'm considering pulling the trigger for my main home, and was waiting for prime day deals might get on this earlier now.

It's excellent, especially for an Airbnb.

Should be fine. Not sure you really need it for long term but wouldn't hurt.

I have a previous generation and love it because the wifi was built in and no need for additional adapters. Gives notifications when family comes in and out. Unfortunately it is a pricey model and this is actually a decent price. I've always checked to see if there are deals on them around Black Friday but never see much drop in the Encode models.

I think good locks are worth their price. I see people in CA living in 2 million dollars home and expensive furnishing buying 10 dollar locks at Home Depot

FYI Lowes Coupons work on this item since it's not "on sale" on the site. I used 10% off to get it down to $237.50.

I don't have any extra coupons. I purchased one on 3rd party site for $2.55.

I'm using an August which was significantly cheaper, and seems to have all the same features. What makes this so great?

In fact, one thing I like better about August is that it's basically incognito. No evidence from the outside that it's installed, and the keypad is wireless and can be placed in a convenient but not in-your-face spot.

same boat. I am using Wyze and happy with it. However my recent experience of power surge made me to reconsider. It is rare but power surge broke my Fios router(not the Fios box or Orbi device), which caused all my wifi-based devices lost connection, including the lock. Keypad and phone control both no respond, we returned home with no access. Luckily we found backyard door was open and finally got in.
I bet in the same case, this fancy lock wouldn't work either.

At least this lock has a regular key so you could've still got in with a key
