What's with the Stupidity of the Gigantic Twitter and Facebook Icons?

Why does everything in software or web development have to be based on stupidity?

I am talking about the new gigantic Twitter, Facebook, and email icons on posts. Was it one dumb person that thought that was a good idea or a group effort by people smoking crack?

Now posts have a huge white space that requires unnecessary scrolling to accommodate gigantic and unnecessary icons. The site is now unusable for reading posts.

Then SD wonders why their website gets bad reviews.

I just noticed this doesn't happen in all communities. I just spot checked a few and It happens in this this community, and the sweepstakes one. It doesn't happen in Hot Deal or Deal Talk.

what browser do you use? do you see if if you try private/incognito mode or in another browser?

I see it in Fire Fox. I tried the Edge browser and don't see it using that browser.
