That price is insane. Anyone still interested but on the fence should absolutely pull the trigger.

Why does this say sn850p instead of sn850x?

It's PS5 branded. The 850x will probably be less than this for the sale. the 1TB with heatsink was 59.99.

Thank you OP. I'm actually in the market for one.

For those that have a PS5, you should seriously considered getting one. The SN850P is the PlayStation branded of the SN850X, which is one of the fastest drives for gaming. The SN850P usually has a 50% markup over the X due to licensing.

You can get the SN850X with heat sink for around $150 now. So a branded SN850P with heat sink for $130 is a great deal. Although I suspect you could get a SN850X with heat sink for less in the next couple days?

The sn850x is $10 more without the heatsink. Are they the same exact drive? Is there some firmware reason this wont work in a PC?

I grabbed that for the ps5 but the 2tb is tempting. I'd like the 850x 2tb with heat sink around $100-$110 on prime days.
As of now I may stick with the 1tb

I guess the benefit of buying from Amazon is that you can buy the 850p now and return it if you get something better on Prime Days.

I'm waiting for the 4TB to hit sub $170. Already own the 2TB version so I can wait a little longer.

Yup this is exactly what I've been waiting for. I'm not in a rush to use it though, so I'm just gonna hold onto it unopened until Prime Day to see if there's a better deal, and if there is then I'll return this one.

Same here. Have the 1TB 850x in my PS5 now but will upgrade when I see the 4TB at a reasonable price.

I wouldn't, but you do you. At this point, I'd say any future savings would be offset by the time you spent enjoying the drive.
