Browsing thru my offers I came across this one here. I do not see any mention of a minimum purchase required OR I just do not see it.

Staples $50 back as statement credit.
To earn credit, click the button above and complete your purchase in the browser that opens. Purchases made through a merchant's app will not qualify for the rebate.

Something REALLY weird has happened.

- No email from Capital One
- Charge was pending for several days on capital one card
- Order delivered ($54)
- Charge DISAPPEARED from my card

edit: nvm I read the above
I experienced the same thing. I had a pending charge of about $53 on my Capital One account. The order was delivered on Monday, and today the pending Staples charge disappeared from my C1 account, and no regular charge took its place. And on top of that, Staples sent my order from two different warehouses, and I worry that It charged $20 for one of them and $33 for the other, instead of a single $53 charge.

Now, I just looked at my C1 account again, and there is a pending charge for $53 back there... but they put a July 11 purchase date on it with a posting date of July 12. I bought the items on JULY 7th and they were delivered on Monday, July 10th. What are they trying to pull saying I bought the item AFTER it was delivered and outside the offer's valid dates?

UPDATE: July 13 -- had a totally unhelpful talk with customer service and their offers department. He did show me on the offers page of the C1 website, in the upper right hand corner, there is a menu with one option being "shopping trips(beta". Clicking that shows the status of your purchase in terms of qualifying for the rebate. Mine says "pending". He would do nothing about the wrong purchase date in their system. However, the transaction they show for me matches my actual purchase (without sales tax) and my Staples order number.

Got screwed, somehow my entire order was returned to the warehouse so instead of fixing the problem on their end they just cancelled the order.

Mine is still "pending." There is a menu in the upper right corner of their offers pages called "shopping trips(beta)" ... so you can see your status. I am not the least bit confident because of the disappearing and then reappearing charges, and now the wrong purchase date in C1's listing for the charge.

Does yours have the dollar amount in the "Credits Earned" column? Mine's still blank.

I just have order amount filled in, not "credits earned." And the order amount is the before tax amount since Staples always screws up reporting the correct total including tax.

Did anyone try to buy an SSD drive?

I don't see that as an exclusion.

Made my purchase on July 6th. Shows authorized on my credit card.
It disappeared from my card charge for about 3 days then reappeared as fully charged 1 day (july 12) before it was delivered.

The Trip shows only as "created".

Called customer support, first person was very unhelpful, but I was patient and was not rude. Was transferred to someone else who was less clueless, but still clueless. She told me she sees that I am supposed to get a percentage.

Finally she decided to speak to a supervisor. Superior knows of this issue and says it is how staples reports it. There is always a staples issue. Says I "should" get the $50, but really don't know.

Bottom line, none of them know.

Thinking back, it was probably not worth for me (maybe ok for others) to go through all this (I have screen shots from beginning to end regarding the $50), but I missed out on all the Amazon prime deals (and other retailers that matched Amazon pricing) that recently happened with internal SSD drives.

Edit: mine still says "created", that is it.

heres my update:
when i check the "shopping trips" section on the app, it does list my purchase on july 7, even though staples removed the charge for a few days, and posted it saying it happened july 11.
the status is "pending", it has the correct order amount, but the "credits earned" field is blank.

does not look too promising, since i got that 2% email.

Going to return my purchase to Staples. This CapitalOne shopping cashback is never reliable like the other cashback sites.

For those who are returning. Are you returning to store or using the provided UPS labels? I went through the return procedure on the website and it says toilet paper is not returnable but the confirmation of return doesn't mention that.

Same. The SSD I bought is only decent price with the $50, and I'd rather not deal with Capital one CS.
