The sensor is probably really 16k DPI, but the real problem with these mice is simply the quality. What good is a 16k DPI sensor if the mouse pulls up or down when you move it sideways?
Problems like that are common with cheap gaming mice.

I have three mice that are marketed by a different company, but are literally the same as the people who make this mouse. Different models one is wireless, two are programmable They are all awesome. Every bit as good as my Logitech which cost much more. Flashier too. One of these I've had for over 3 years, so they hold up.

My son actually requested a wired mouse recently. He likes wired for his Chromebook so he's less likely to lose it since it's teathered. I got two, since his little brother will want one as well. One of the discounts covered both mice, one of the discounts on covered one so I was in for $12 pre-tax on both.

For my kids they just have to work, they don't have to be super high quality. It is likely they will lose them before they quit working, it's a coin-toss.

That's been my experience as well. Used to buy $40-70 "gaming mice". They all died 1-2 years later and were never noticeably more accurate anyway. Now I just buy $6 noname gaming mice and they work exactly the same and hold up just as long.
Same factories probably make them both honestly, except noname charges you $6 and Logitech charges you $60

Sounds like you're buying trash mice honestly. I always stick to Logitech, and their warranty is great.
