I got the $20 bonus card today and it says: "This card cannot be used to pay for shipping charges, return labels, exchanges, memberships, passes and tickets, shop services, REI Classes & Events, REI Adventures, used gear, gift cards, backordered items or to purchase goods in our Corporate Group Sales business channel." Frown So no buying gift cards but what if you bought something and returned it for a gift card?

You should be able to buy an electronic (emailed) REI gift card online and pay for it with this "bonus" card, I just did it this morning. Much less of a hassle for everyone versus a buy/return.

One per account. I tried the same thing as you, only got the 1 gift card. Sort of expected.

So just to be clear, this doesn't start until July 14th, correct? I see a lot of people mentioning getting their bonus card already but I assume they're talking about the Target deal, not the REI bonus card.

No, I believe they are talking about a previous REI deal which offered a $20 bonus card for use in July. This is a new promo. Gift that keeps on giving so to speak.
