Sounds like personal preference. Dr Zevia is one of my favorites - reminds of diet Dr. Pepper but without the aspartame.

If you're drinking regular coke and still eating lots of sugar, I can see these tasting like garbage. I first tried these after almost a year on keto (no sugar or regular soda pop) and the taste was amazing.

Ive gone off keto a few times since and tried a real Coke and pepsi again, and it was the most disgusting thing ever, made me physically nauseous from just a couple sips, tasted like chemicals.

Sounds like regular vs low sodium v8 for me. start on the low sodium v8 and tastes bad, but eventually get used it. Now regular v8 seems extremely salty. Avoid them if I can but otherwise I have to cut them with lots of water.
