These were a lifesaver when I had Xfinity and their useless tech support couldn't figure out why they were dropping signal on my modem.

You need to compile your own build of Tasmota to enable the PING command, but I had it so it would ping Google every 5 minutes to determine whether I had internet or not. If it was down, it would cycle the outlet the modem was connected to.

The scripting language in Tasmota is robust enough that I was able to have it add time between flipping the power if it had consecutive unsuccessful ping/flip sequences, thus putting less strain on the relay.

The only downside (possible upside if you like auditory queues) is that the relays are pretty loud. They definitely won't work well in any quiet setting.

You can with SwitchBot plugs. I set the threshold for 1 watt for power tool chargers. Hope this helps.

It's relevant if you are a true slickdealer and don't even need the product.

Seeing the same.
Still seeing $13.99 on my end. Also, this is an "Exclusive Prime price", so extra YMMV.

These are pretty nice. I have 2 running ESPHome so they are completely under my control. Since I have an older house I can always use a couple more outlets, too.

Edit: $9.50 for two December 2021
Thanks for the info. I have an older house also, beats the single smart plug options.

The price from 2 years ago is irrelevant.

2 years ago the economy wasn't as crap either...so unless you're a slickdealer with a time machine...
Prices can go down also. I paid $2.50 for a dozen eggs in 2018, just bought a dozen Wed for $.99 cents. Wages rose 4.4% from a year ago, unemployment is at 3.6 %......Keep your hopes up

You haven't seen his Time Machine.

Price history is relevant for some people, why do people use camelcamelcamel?

Reading the comments and the review on Amazon, I'm not sure on this - but thank you - this could be a good automation tool! Just wish every one of these Smart apps used the same application!
Exactly, at least have Alexa integration so I can control it in there instead of another app on my phone.

that makes zero sense. If you don't need it, why are you even in here thread-crapping and commenting??? Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

This was nice to have for the Christmas Tree lights. It was a little awkard connecting with SmartThings but it worked well enough.
How do you connect this Wi-Fi device to smart things?

I have few of these running in my house. I didn't modify anything yet. The energy monitoring feature is really nice. It has running fine without issues.

You used to be able to flash these with TuyaConvert to tasmota. Not sure if thats still possible today or you need to open it up and tap into the serial pins. They used to be ESP driven if I recall. I think they have a different microcontroller now. TYWE3S. Look up TYWE3S tasmota and you should be able to see the wiring setup (or jig setup) for flashing these. Once they flash, they are pretty solid.

I have an older one that's why I'm wondering. I bought these years back as well so I wouldn't mind doing the conversion if it's not that difficult
