These were a lifesaver when I had Xfinity and their useless tech support couldn't figure out why they were dropping signal on my modem.

You need to compile your own build of Tasmota to enable the PING command, but I had it so it would ping Google every 5 minutes to determine whether I had internet or not. If it was down, it would cycle the outlet the modem was connected to.

The scripting language in Tasmota is robust enough that I was able to have it add time between flipping the power if it had consecutive unsuccessful ping/flip sequences, thus putting less strain on the relay.

The only downside (possible upside if you like auditory queues) is that the relays are pretty loud. They definitely won't work well in any quiet setting.

You can with SwitchBot plugs. I set the threshold for 1 watt for power tool chargers. Hope this helps.

I'm currently using this in my home office to control a power strip, 2 monitors and my desk lamp. It's nice being able to turn off the power to my items when I'm not home. One suggestion is I use the Smart Life app to control all of my different smart plugs and bulbs. They accept more of the item I have than other apps. Might buy one for the kids room

Got these today. Not sure I want to use these, though.
1. Many grammar and spelling errors in the user manual since this is, of course, from 'overseas'.
2. From reading the instructions you have to download the KMC app AND register it with a phone number or email address (sure, I have enough fake\spam mailboxes).
3. You need to type in your WiFi password similar to other devices but is KMC to be trusted? More so then KASA or other name brand smart devices?
4. You need to install an Amazon Skill to use this with Alexa.

That's my only complaint about these: if it loses power, it starts in the OFF state and needs to be turned on (either app/Alexa or button).
