The price is pretty compelling for a 4070 prebuilt and the specs aren't bad either. The price protection is nice as well.

The price protection sounds like a joke to me.

"If you purchase an eligible product displaying the badge from July 5th through July 9th, 2023 and after your purchase that same product ends up discounted to a lower price on Newegg.com on or before July 14th, 2023, Newegg will automatically refund the difference to the original payment method. There's no need to track prices or submit a claim – refunds will be automatically processed by July 25th, 2023 and an email confirmation will be sent to you."

does anyone know what brand of RTX is provided typically by this vendor?

Quoted: "....NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X Graphics Card (Brand may vary) ..."

Has newegg gotten any better regarding the return policy? I finally swore off them years ago after they wouldn't accept a DOA harddrive return

not a good deal, fair value, downvote, sorry.
Are you serious? A pre-built for $10 less than building yourself is not a good deal?! Your price doesn't include windows or manual labor. Anytime a pre-built cost the same as building yourself it's a good deal.

People like this tend to forget that those systems include OS & labor (you know someone's time putting it together and testing it)

First of all the price you calculated is more than what this is listed for, from what I know $1360 > 1350. You also left out the cost of the window key. Most of the time somebody would have to spend troubleshooting and putting together the system. Most people don't even want to deal with putting one together.

Unless there's a 15 to 20% difference in buying parts individually yourself versus a pre-built it is not worth the time and the effort.
