Take that $63 and put it in a 1 year t-bill or CD yielding over 5% and you'll turn that into just over $66. No point in locking up $63 today on stamps that you will take years (or decades) to use. Unless you are going to use 100 stamps in the near future, this may end up costing you more in the long run, not to mention the chance of losing/misplacing these stamps.

USPS should just charge $1 and be done with it
They can't. Any price increase has to be approved by Congress.

Why I have "ha" at the end. U would have double your money but u still have stamps. Better investments elsewhere.

That's why they need to keep raising prices because no one use it anymore. I been even getting less junk mail too.

The USPS is certainly helping inflation along. Along with increased stamp prices all other services, from shipping to post office boxes, have also seen large increases.

Rates to rent a medium POB have increased significantly over the past 20 years but have more than doubled in the 3 years since Louis DeJoy became Postmaster General in June 2020.

In 2001, the yearly fee for my medium size POB was $38. For 2020, the price for the same box had escalated to $122 annually.

- In 2022, the annual fee was increased to $202!

- Renewed my POB as of July 2023. Yearly fee is now at $216.

And for all this extra cost you are rewarded with window service that seems equal to molasses on a cold day.

USPS increases stamp prices again starting Sunday

• "With three unprecedented postage hikes in 12 months, USPS has kicked off runaway 'stampflation' like the U.S. has never seen, and it's making the situation worse," Yoder said in a statement.
• Yoder said that after January's rate increase began, "mail volume immediately decreased nearly 9% year-over-year, while expenses increased by 16%."

Zoom in: The number of pieces of mail handled by the post office has been on the decline in recent years as more people pay bills online and fewer send physical thank you cards.

• In 2022, USPS handled 127.3 billion pieces of mail compared to the high of 213.1 billion in 2006, data shows.

Bought 100 stamps a few years ago and still have maybe 80 of them. Will last me for a while.

As far as packages go, pirateship is my go to for discounts on usps and ups shipping costs

Union. They have fought it reduced or staggered days for decades. They could still maybe work 5-6 days but only half the addresses per day and half the personnel. So easy, but they refuse.

It's a death spiral, increasing prices to make up for falling demands
The post office is profitable, except for the fact that Congress has recently required them to pre-fund pensions which is not a typical or reasonable requirement
