Quite a bit cheaper than what I paid for it in December, and my daughter uses it every day during summer. It does max out at 18Mph as it says, but at that spead you are not going to get 25 miles, probably more in the range of 8-10 miles, my guess, based on my daughter running out in the neighbourhood a couple times and I am not sure if she charged overnight. Had no problems with it other than one time it went into limp mode because it had been baking in the sun and then she pushed it at max. She probably damaged the battery too.

I bought this for my son last year. It was from NIU directly and costed about $500 on sale. It has been his get around in the summer almost daily. Max speed is about 18 or 19mph. Range is fine as we never inted to use it for longer commute. We usually use it for 8-10 miles on aveverage and let it charge back over night. Like any EV owners would do

I wanted to share positive experience with their customer service as some of you might be concerned.
After 3 monhts, He did not park the scooter properly and let it drop to the ground and broke the throttle lever. I contacted the customer service (which is in CA) and they sent me a return shipping lable. I did not have the original package and sent it back in my own. They fixed it and shipped it back in an NIU package in 3 weeks.

Never had any problem other than that.

With this price from a local store, this is a great deal!

Not a bad deal and looks like a decent scooter. I own 5 scooters. They range from a 77# beast with 2000w motors to a razor scooter that only weighs 25#. This one is 40# and with a 300w motor (don't look at peak, the continuous motor is 300w), it sits in the middle weight wise, but on the lower power side. Segway F40, 30LP, Max, all have 350w motor. Unagi has duo 250w motors.
Having said that, NIU builds good scooters, looks a lot like those bulky Lime scooters all over the city. I might grab one more just because I am addicted. 😛

Can personally vouch for NIU. I've owned a KQi3 Max for one year. I use it only in ideal weather conditions in NYC, most trips will be 26/40 miles (reported max) round trip, averaging about 16-20 MPH (20-23mph max). Battery still holds a very strong charge. The app is pretty informative albeit a bit laggy and klunky if not in its riding mode.
Customer service is pretty more responsive than other brands, which I could appreciate! If you charge a NIU scooter like you charge your cell phone and keep the battery in about 15-90% range regularly I believe you'll maintain its battery life optimally. It's a smooth ride, brakes are responsive, and the lights are bright if someone rides in the dark. This is a solid deal from a reputable brand.

I bought this 1 year ago for 480. It's a bit underpowered for me; I go everywhere on full throttle (even in turns) as a result battery life isn't great. Not enough torque to get me up any kind of hill (I'm 190lbs) Getting it out of learning mode was a bit of a hassle but that was probably me not taking my time with setup instructions before taking it for a spin.
Id say it's not bad at this price

I have the ES3 Plus refurb also. Loves it. After a while u will get the error code 42 which u have to tighten the battery screws. This deal here is about $150 more than the Segway. Just about the same spec. This one has a lil more power at 48 volts 300 wats whereas the Segway has 36 volts 250 watts.

This is a great scooter for kids, and it is still comfortable for adults. Great price for what you're getting. NIU is a major international brand and these come with a 2 year warranty.

Bought the same and started getting the error 42 frequently due to flaw in the battery connector. I'd avoid es3+ or the older 2 batteries segways altogether.

Tightening battery screws didn't solve it permanently for me. It happened frequent enough that people are posting numerous workarounds for it.
