There are rumors that a slim model with a detachable disc drive is coming soon. Unless you just gotta have a PS5 ASAP I'd hold off.

it's actually coming this year and the specs are the same just the console is tinier so get what u want

I'm glad I'm only interested in FF7 Rebirth. When that releases that's the only time I'll buy a PS5.

Hopefully it would be a PS5 Slim.

I think it's just a guess. During the Microsoft FTC trial over the Activision acquisition Microsoft brought up that they think it's coming this year with a pro next year probably. But that's just Microsoft's idea from what I understood and Sony didn't comment or confirm that. Could be wrong though.

If the rumors are true, it is later this year, and you may have supply issues. Everyone has different needs, but if you want one now, get one. It is worthwhile for some to pay the possibly $40 difference to enjoy it now. Who knows when it will be released and when they can put hands on one. I picked up a ps5 disk version 2 years ago at retail price and have 2 years of enjoyment. No regrets.
