Not the 4K version, probably not worth it since the 4k version is more powerful and is only $5 more. The 4K Max, the most powerful stick by Amazon, is $7 more.

Good deal, I got another one, issue is the newer ones of the Sheldon can't be rooted without shorting - also this thing really struggles to run lineageOS with minimal apps and low memory mode due to just 1gb of memory - lots of force closing and quits mid app - unless you're running this thing stock Amazon has taken really restrictive steps or banning third party launchers like wolf and locking this down

Better to go with Fire Stick 4K Max (IMHO)

IMHO, I would wait for another $40 gen 2 cube deal... 8GB storage is not enough in 2023! Skip the sticks, Same storage as the first gen from what 2015?

I would grab this if you needed a remote or a spare though..

Why Amazon insist on 8gb, I constantly run out of run with just downloading apps on their store. Nothing side loaded.

Does anyone if these fire sticks (as well as the fire stick Lite model) come with the same remote the 4k Max model comes with?

The "lite" remote does not have TV controls, but if you have a lite stick and a tv remote, the lite stick can pair with the newer firestick remotes.

But this fire stick ($16.99) has exact same remote as the 4k Max one?

Yes.. Same remote.

If you need a stick and use only a hand full of apps, the 4kmax and remote is still less than a non sale remote and you would be getting all the 4kmax features. At $25 I can see why it is popular. At $25 it is less than a new remote on most days. If all you want is a second remote for your cube, the the gen 3 for $17 makes sense..

All that said, after the initial setup you only get 4gb free for storage on ANY (GCC,ONN and firesticks) these things. It might be snappy enough today, but the 4gb is not enough. You need at least 1gb free at all times, so all you really have is 3 useable! It will eventually get bloated and a factory rest will be needed. just 8 more gig on the cube is quite a improvement, but again needlessly small as well.

Adoptable storage is not a perfect work around and with the ram prices these days it seems to be deliberate to annoy users.
