Every decision has to be tough. According to the RTINGS reviews, the sony has better color accuracy after calibration, better SDR brightness in all but 100% windows, and has a stand extender where I could put a soundbar in front of it, unlike the lg. But then the lg is better in a few areas also and in HDR brightness.

But to get the lg same price I'd have to wait for an open box to be available to me.

Also the lg is glossy and the sony is semiglossy. I wonder which is better in that regard. I usually like matte screens, honestly.

Also the 42 inch a90k review there shows some screen uniformity issues, but then some other review that just says a90k without the size, so I guess the 48, has way better uniformity. But I assume that is just unit to unit not model to model.

Why do these manufacturers keep putting these on stands that are so low you can't put a sound bar in front of the tvs? Sucks that if I get a 42 I will have to put a soundbar on a shelf under it I guess. Sonys look like small stands too. Tempting to keep using my kuro there as a soundbar fit perfectly for that.
Another option is buying a replacement stand. I replaced mine so I could raise the middle of the screen to exactly eye level and to add the ability to swivel when I'm viewing from another area. You can find such stands on Amazon for around $40.

I read Best Buy's return policy and they price match Amazon if fulfilled by Amazon. I just bought this tv on the 4th so I reached out to online customer service. Turns out, the tv is also at 1,499 on Best Buy so I didn't even bother with the Amazon angle. I just got $214 (assume it includes difference in tax liability) taken off my amount due from my BB card. I only used the card because I intended to trial this tv for 60 days (total tech membership) while waiting to see if the tv went down in cost. So my 1700 tv is now a 1500 tv. Good start! I'll either keep it now and worse case scenario its 1500 or maybe the 77 inch goes down and is wroth getting but have a feeling this will now be my tv and this will be my best price. Pretty thrilled.

I just assumed all tvs would be so different in design that it would be hard to know if a third party stand would work or not. How would I know?

The stands use the standard VESA mount holes which the LGs have.

I have a cozy little living room that needs a tv somewhere between 43" and 55". It gets a lot of daylight so I was leading towards a Samsung Frame.

Anyone know, does the picture quality of this just blow the Frame out of the water? How does it do in daylit rooms? Is it very glossy?
