Well, PS5 is still the full $500 price everywhere so the deal is that this gives you D4 for free. Just know though that you have to pay for PS+ in order to play D4 as it is an online-only game, even if you just want to play by yourself. I've also seen $500 PS5s that come with God of War if that free game suits you better.

This is known to be incorrect now that the game is out. You can play without any PS+ subscription. You just can't do certain things (join a clan, chat, party... you can't even inspect other people to see their gear). But you can play through the campaign, do all kinds of activities, and even see other players running around the world and "kill things with them" in an unorganized, ungrouped fashion (ie not in dungeons).

Note that you DO have to have your PS5 connected to the internet to play, even without the PS+ subscription. It is still an online game. That may be where some of the confusion comes in. If you don't connect your PS5 to wifi because you don't have PS+, then you can't play D4... but not because of the missing PS+, but instead because you aren't connected to internet.

I'll never buy from antonline again. I ordered a special edition console but they sent me the standard edition. I tried to cancel the order before it shipped, but they were unable. When it arrived I processed a return, but they only refunded me 75%, I'm guessing a restock fee. I called them to resolve the issue, even presented screenshots showing their product listing was misleading and they were unhelpful so I got my bank involved. Took ~2 months to get my money back.

^^^ Just wanted to reiterate that you need PS+ to play Diablo IV. I didn't know until after I bought the game.

Not true. It tries to get you to buy PS+, but if you skip the screen nagging you to buy PS+, launch the game and go in it works, just with some decreased (and arguably completely unneeded) functionality.

I do believe the nag screen telling you to buy PS+ will pop up each and every time you launch the game. (Not 100% sure on that, though.) Just skip it each time.
