You can still buy it from Best Buy for $100. You may even pick it up from the store right away. I did that yesterday.

I just picked up my 2TB Samsung 980 PRO with Heatsink at Best Buy. On the side of the box the Production Date is listed as 04/24/2023. It was made in Korea. I assume it is on the latest firmware.
Just received mine from Amazon earlier today--production date 4/12/23; from what I've read here and elsewhere, anything from 2023 should not have the bricking issue.

I checked and my local Best Buys don't have it in stock. Bought directly from Samsung and it says it'll be delivered by July 17th if I wanted to spend another 19 bucks they would guarantee delivery by July 14th. Definitely a better date than what Amazon was giving me which was a huge range through August.

Anyone knows an external enclosure with enough clearance inside for this to fit with the heatsink?

I just installed the Samsung Magician software and the 2TB Samsung 980 PRO SSD with Heatsink that I just bought that has the Production Date of 04/24/2023 does have the latest firmware version 5B2QGXA7. For those that bought the 2TB Samsung 980 PRO SSD with Heatsink for the PS5 and have no way of connecting it to a computer to check the firmware version, if the Production Date is recent then you should have the latest firmware. Just install it in your PS5 and you are good to go.

Ordered one. This drive is the one to get if Bitlocker is used. Otherwise the WD SN850X at $89.99 is the better buy.
Can u explain why it's the one to get if using BL?
