I fly all the time for work, I'm part 107, and have never had any of these issues you mention using the regular controller.

I'm sure the RC is probably great and nice to have, but you're exaggerating things.

My phone never overheats, the dongle never gets knocked out, my phone's battery is barely if any affected, my phone case isn't an issue ever, and you shouldn't be taking any phone calls while piloting a drone anyways.

These all sound like isolated personal issues. I've had hundreds of flights and don't have these complaints.
Your phone will heat up while running full brightness outside and running the DJI Fly app. And then eventually get darker when it gets too hot. You're also using your phone and your phone's battery. Your phone also gets notifications while flying unless you put it in Do Not Disturb. And if your drone is a half mile away and you get an important phone call, lol, good luck. Not to mention you have to use that annoying dongle that might get knocked out of your phone/come loose mid flight, and that adapter that you have to pull out to fit your phone in that doesn't fit most phone cases. The N1 is a royal PITA compared to the RC.

The N1 is barely any smaller. I've had both and never once have I ever thought, "Wow, I sure wish I didn't have this RC controller on me, I totally wish I had the 1/2" smaller N1 in my bag instead".

Have you ever used the RC? It is worth every penny over the N1.
Great drone and great price. That RC screen is so bright, much brighter than your phone.

I just got a Mavic 3 Classic and I'll likely be keeping the Mini 3 Pro as a backup. But as far as the Mini 3 Pro, for the price, the size, the ease of use, it's the best drone on the market. Very easy to use if you're a beginner but still has some Pro-level features. Make sure you take the photos in RAW and switch the video to D-Log to get the most out of your flights.

If you want to see what the drone can really do, my Instagram is @clarkefishing and almost all of the photos/videos there were shot with the Mini 3 Pro, including that big panorama I just posted.

If you have any questions about this drone, feel free, I'll try to answer!

Better wait for Costco. Costco had pro with fly more kit for $759 at least twice in the last two months. I bought one and returned.
They did, I bought it, but it doesn't have that RC. It has the one where you use your phone, which I think I like, but I have no experience with this controller

1. Costco had mini 3 pro with two extra batteries and charger on sale for $729 plus tax.
2. It is with the regular N1 remote not the RC.

Only, the Costco one doesn't include the RC controller with the built-in screen. The Costco one has the RC-N1, which requires a phone or tablet to fly, and isn't as fast, convenient, or compact of a setup as the RC controller.

Granted, the RC controller doesn't have cellular data for updates built in either, but tethering the RC to your phone wirelessly is a whole lot easier than having to pull out the phone, extend the holder, fit the phone into the holder, connect the cables, etc., etc., just to fly, especially if you're on the go or hiking.

Some considerations for those that want the RC controller

1) Some modern phones have larger and brighter screens than that, for example the S23U and the iPhone 14 Pro max

2) The N1 controller is much smaller and more compact. This makes a lot of difference if you backpack with the drone.

3) You Carey your phone everywhere anyway

4) OTA updates with N1 but not RC, if you want them (if your drone is hacked you don't so perhaps they is not a consideration

5) You can use the N1 controller with an iPad or iPad mini.

I personally prefer the N1. If I were to get the mini 3 pro I would have no interest.in the flymore combo. The only reason to own a mini 3 pro instead of the 2s are the extended range batteries. The 250g weight is an illusory advantage because many countries require you to register even a 250g drone if it has a camera.

This Mini 3 Pro is also one of the quietest (if not the quietest) drones available.

This controller is so so much better than one you need to use your phone. Screen is super bright too

With its built-in screen, Is this ready to fly out of the box or does it need activation/app install before flying? Thanks

Edit: Never mind, question answered by reviews: "If you purchase a DJI drone from an 'unauthorized retailer' you run the risk of running into an activation error code..." and "...it connects and video initially shows, it just wouldn't allow any action without activation that it said was forbidden and required support."
