I fly all the time for work, I'm part 107, and have never had any of these issues you mention using the regular controller.

I'm sure the RC is probably great and nice to have, but you're exaggerating things.

My phone never overheats, the dongle never gets knocked out, my phone's battery is barely if any affected, my phone case isn't an issue ever, and you shouldn't be taking any phone calls while piloting a drone anyways.

These all sound like isolated personal issues. I've had hundreds of flights and don't have these complaints.

Your phone will heat up while running full brightness outside and running the DJI Fly app. And then eventually get darker when it gets too hot. You're also using your phone and your phone's battery. Your phone also gets notifications while flying unless you put it in Do Not Disturb. And if your drone is a half mile away and you get an important phone call, lol, good luck. Not to mention you have to use that annoying dongle that might get knocked out of your phone/come loose mid flight, and that adapter that you have to pull out to fit your phone in that doesn't fit most phone cases. The N1 is a royal PITA compared to the RC.

The N1 is barely any smaller. I've had both and never once have I ever thought, "Wow, I sure wish I didn't have this RC controller on me, I totally wish I had the 1/2" smaller N1 in my bag instead".

Have you ever used the RC? It is worth every penny over the N1.

Great drone and great price. That RC screen is so bright, much brighter than your phone.

I just got a Mavic 3 Classic and I'll likely be keeping the Mini 3 Pro as a backup. But as far as the Mini 3 Pro, for the price, the size, the ease of use, it's the best drone on the market. Very easy to use if you're a beginner but still has some Pro-level features. Make sure you take the photos in RAW and switch the video to D-Log to get the most out of your flights.

If you want to see what the drone can really do, my Instagram is @clarkefishing and almost all of the photos/videos there were shot with the Mini 3 Pro, including that big panorama I just posted.

If you have any questions about this drone, feel free, I'll try to answer!

With its built-in screen, Is this ready to fly out of the box or does it need activation/app install before flying? Thanks
Ready to fly. There will for sure be an update you have to run, but that won't take more than 10 minutes. The DJI Fly app is pre-installed on it and is the default app.

It's an Android device. It can connect to WiFi, screen record, etc.

Can anyone comment on Amazon's 2 year protection (via Asurion). $55 seems pretty cheap I don't mind the extra cost

This Mini 3 Pro is also one of the quietest (if not the quietest) drones available.
I can confirm this. Ive gotten up close to family and they have no idea. I HIGHLY recommend the goggles. I got the goggles 2, but I've read that some people like the integra better. The drone is very hard for me to fly with the handheld with joysticks. With the goggles and motion controller I can see so much more and it's more intuitive. I freaking love it

You're right, wow. This is, I'm 99.9% sure, the cheapest this drone has ever been with the RC. Fantastic deal.

There are some amazon warehouse used ones as well for an extra 20% off. Although there could be issues with them, that seems like a great deal as well.

Edit* Looks like the cheap amazon warehouse ones are gone. mine was 561 after the discount. Now it's better to buy it new.

Thank you, Strictly speaking, I guess it's not ready to fly without first connecting to the internet but from your response, it does sound like it's easier with this better controller which seems to connect directly to the internet. What kind of info is required for activation?

Also note that the Costco deal is not exactly the Fly More kit. It comes with two extra 249g batteries (not the extended run time) and a 128gb SD card. I purchased it on the 7/4 deal and it's still a great deal. I tried both controllers and decided to purchase an RC for ~$215 in addition to the N1 to have the option for tablet use or an all-in-one.

I heard that the mini 4 pro has been spotted being tested and might come out in only a few months so it might be better to wait

I was debating between the two as well. The only downside to the Asurion is that it doesn't cover loss/flyaway. Everything else that I read said that it's been great with having no deductible and they're more likely to reimburse you than try to repair the drone.

It looks like the chase ultimate rewards use your points deal is back and can net you $60 off if you haven't used it yet. Just use $0.01 worth of points since the point conversion is terrible.

Just an account with DJI with an email, I think that's name/email/number, etc. That binds the drone to your account. So even if someone were to steal your drone, it would be unusable, since the serial # of the drone is bound to your account specifically.
