I fly all the time for work, I'm part 107, and have never had any of these issues you mention using the regular controller.

I'm sure the RC is probably great and nice to have, but you're exaggerating things.

My phone never overheats, the dongle never gets knocked out, my phone's battery is barely if any affected, my phone case isn't an issue ever, and you shouldn't be taking any phone calls while piloting a drone anyways.

These all sound like isolated personal issues. I've had hundreds of flights and don't have these complaints.

Your phone will heat up while running full brightness outside and running the DJI Fly app. And then eventually get darker when it gets too hot. You're also using your phone and your phone's battery. Your phone also gets notifications while flying unless you put it in Do Not Disturb. And if your drone is a half mile away and you get an important phone call, lol, good luck. Not to mention you have to use that annoying dongle that might get knocked out of your phone/come loose mid flight, and that adapter that you have to pull out to fit your phone in that doesn't fit most phone cases. The N1 is a royal PITA compared to the RC.

The N1 is barely any smaller. I've had both and never once have I ever thought, "Wow, I sure wish I didn't have this RC controller on me, I totally wish I had the 1/2" smaller N1 in my bag instead".

Have you ever used the RC? It is worth every penny over the N1.

Great drone and great price. That RC screen is so bright, much brighter than your phone.

I just got a Mavic 3 Classic and I'll likely be keeping the Mini 3 Pro as a backup. But as far as the Mini 3 Pro, for the price, the size, the ease of use, it's the best drone on the market. Very easy to use if you're a beginner but still has some Pro-level features. Make sure you take the photos in RAW and switch the video to D-Log to get the most out of your flights.

If you want to see what the drone can really do, my Instagram is @clarkefishing and almost all of the photos/videos there were shot with the Mini 3 Pro, including that big panorama I just posted.

If you have any questions about this drone, feel free, I'll try to answer!

No, my experience is different. I use iPad mini with Litchi and a bunch of other useful apps that you can't get on RC. Also, the communication range is better with N1 remote from my experience flying it side by side RC remote that my friend has.

For someone that has the money but just getting in to drones is this that huge of a difference between the link below? I already have my TRUST certificate complete and know this one would need registered with the FAA, no big deal to me. I want something nice but wouldn't mind saving the money if something like this would work and meet my photo and video quality needs.

Has anyone figured out a way to side-load the "Litchi" app?

Does this need to be registered with the FAA or have any other applications?

Contemplating buying this, then selling the RC controller in favor of the N1. Isn't that a decent option?
Just get the Costco deal when it's available again.

No. It's 1 gram under the requirement. You will need to take what's called a TRUST test to get certified. They can be done free online and take 20 minutes.

HUGE difference.. Both in support, and if you do video, a "real" gimbal on the DJI vs electronic image stabilization on the toy grade. If you want the budget, get the mini 2 for 275. STILL a huge step up over the holy stone. Nothing wrong with toy grade, but they are toy grade.

Thank you. Besides looking in to doing all this legally I'm still trying to catch up on the huge difference between some models. I think I will go with this and have probably everything a novice would need right from the start 😊

So with this drone, I don't need to register or get any certificates right? Just stay below the altitude max and I'm good? New to drones so have no idea. Always though they were really cool though.

I took my mini pro 3 to Redwoods National Park in North California. It's a blast to use. Do not skimp and get the regular N1 remote. This remote is the way to go. Way easier to connect and control.

B&H Photo have same price. Also, it's cheaper to buy Drone with RC and flymore combo separately instead of buying combo.

I was giving my opinion on the RC vs the N1. I have an iPhone 11. Maybe the newer phones don't overheat, but my iPhone 11 sure does.

Another 107 commercial flyer here with the N1, RC and RC Pro controllers and I 100% agree. I don't understand why people bash the N1, it's the most versatile, longest lasting, has the best range, lets you run third party control apps, and you can choose to run whatever size display you want whether it be a tiny Android phone or giant Apple tablet.

That being said, if I didn't already own the Mini Pro 3 I'd jump on this deal and then pick up a used N1 on eBay or something for around $50, then swap between the two controllers as needed.
