I fly all the time for work, I'm part 107, and have never had any of these issues you mention using the regular controller.

I'm sure the RC is probably great and nice to have, but you're exaggerating things.

My phone never overheats, the dongle never gets knocked out, my phone's battery is barely if any affected, my phone case isn't an issue ever, and you shouldn't be taking any phone calls while piloting a drone anyways.

These all sound like isolated personal issues. I've had hundreds of flights and don't have these complaints.

Your phone will heat up while running full brightness outside and running the DJI Fly app. And then eventually get darker when it gets too hot. You're also using your phone and your phone's battery. Your phone also gets notifications while flying unless you put it in Do Not Disturb. And if your drone is a half mile away and you get an important phone call, lol, good luck. Not to mention you have to use that annoying dongle that might get knocked out of your phone/come loose mid flight, and that adapter that you have to pull out to fit your phone in that doesn't fit most phone cases. The N1 is a royal PITA compared to the RC.

The N1 is barely any smaller. I've had both and never once have I ever thought, "Wow, I sure wish I didn't have this RC controller on me, I totally wish I had the 1/2" smaller N1 in my bag instead".

Have you ever used the RC? It is worth every penny over the N1.

Great drone and great price. That RC screen is so bright, much brighter than your phone.

I just got a Mavic 3 Classic and I'll likely be keeping the Mini 3 Pro as a backup. But as far as the Mini 3 Pro, for the price, the size, the ease of use, it's the best drone on the market. Very easy to use if you're a beginner but still has some Pro-level features. Make sure you take the photos in RAW and switch the video to D-Log to get the most out of your flights.

If you want to see what the drone can really do, my Instagram is @clarkefishing and almost all of the photos/videos there were shot with the Mini 3 Pro, including that big panorama I just posted.

If you have any questions about this drone, feel free, I'll try to answer!

So with this drone, I don't need to register or get any certificates right? Just stay below the altitude max and I'm good? New to drones so have no idea. Always though they were really cool though.
I believe you will need to take the TRUST test. It's free online and super easy. The certificate never expires.

No problem. Forgot to mention, that certificate is for recreational flying only. If you want to make money using your drone I believe there's an entire different cert you'd need.

Oh okay gotcha. Yeah this would be purely for fun. Still unsure on it. I think they're awesome and wondering how much I will use it but I love the idea of it.

Best price this combo has ever been! Now, anyone seen any good deals on accessories? Extra battery or two, maybe a good case deal?

Just get the Costco deal when it's available again.
I got that deal on the 4th, haven't opened anything yet. I just wasn't sure if cost savings would be worth it. It's about a $200 difference between the two controllers, but the Costco package comes with the extra accessories.

I was in that boat for years. Wife getting annoyed at me debating it for years, so I finally decided to buy this deal.

As others noted, you need the TRUST certificate - and keep it on your when you fly, because you can apparently be asked for it by law enforcement at any time. And if you're doing it for money, you need a different certificate -- that includes making videos and posting them on YouTube if you've monetized the channel, so keep that in mind. I don't know how much they enforce it, but have seen many videos from people making that distinction.

If you need a good budget case.. go look at your local Harbor Freight.

Just a FYI the case's interior foam will be Pick n Pluck. You'll have to remove what foam you don't need to fit your drone and accessories in the case. They are durable and very affordable vs. custom cases you'd see on Amazon/eBay.

Is this a joke post? Hundreds of flights myself - no overheating, no issues with a dongle ever, etc. Fearmongering here.
Same here. I have used several phones and they never overheated. I have lots of hours and bunches of flights and yet to knock a dongle out.

I was giving my opinion on the RC vs the N1. I have an iPhone 11. Maybe the newer phones don't overheat, but my iPhone 11 sure does.
I have 14 pro and my screen normally will start dimming after 5-8 minutes fly, not sure if I am doing anything wrong. But I also mainly fly it by the beach so that could be bc of high temperature as well.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am familiar with those cases and they are very good bang for buck. I hate pick-n-pluck foam but Im sure I can come up with something custom easily enough with some Kaizen type closed cell foam sheets.

I literally just replaced all my foam with custom inserts, Just google "DIY Trekpak"

Also Harbor Freight is good, but sometimes even better deals & cases at Monoprice.
I got two huge rolling cases for $70 shipped each, better quality and cheaper than HF.

Just ordered this deal. Is it worth purchasing the DJI refresh on the DJI website?

First time flyer. Just bought this. Do I need a memory card? If so, what kind do you all recommend?

Any small to meduim camera bag will be a good solution because they are cushioned and have compartments and are designed to protect electronics.

I repurposed a small to medium camera bag I had sitting around that I was tight for my Nikon with one lens and one body. It easily holds my Mini 3 pro, 2 addtl batteries and Controller, extra props and screw driver.

The prop screws on the Mini 3 Pro are pretty small, use a good a decent screw driver with the right size bit.

If you don't have one laying around,
