Yes. A better drive if you have a port on your computer to support the speed. My M1 MacBook Pro is unable to go over the speed of Samsung, so extra drive speed is just a theoretical advantage and nothing else.

If you've got the Amazon Prime credit card, it probably makes more sense to buy there. 6% cashback and another 1% of you pick No-Rush Shipping. Brings the effective price down to $186.

I debated canceling my order of this to get the X8, but then I found a couple reviews that complained about it getting pretty hot. I worried that the heat might shorten the lifespan, so I decided to stick with the Samsung. FWIW.

The SanDisk Extreme Pro 4TB was $239 yesterday on amazon. Isn't it better than the Samsung T7? It offers double the speed (2000 MB/s)

Note: BHPhoto still has it for $239!

I guess it depends whether it's affected by this?

The T7 Shield has hardware encryption and an activity light, if these are important to you.

Samsung.com's price for the 4TB is 259. Had to ask agent if they'll be able to price match Amazon at 199. They granted and sent to my email a "magic link" to a cart with the discounted price. It turned out 189 before tax. Granted some rock CB offers 10%, this means I'm even paying less (after CB credits)

I have the same. The SanDisk is smaller and has a 5-year warranty, right?

Doesn't Western Digital / SanDisk offer better customer service than Samsung?

I have both a 2 TB Extreme Pro and a 2 TB Extreme, and the former has always seemed faster than the latter— both are attached to my M1 MacBook Pro.

If you decide not to use your link, please DM it to me. TIA

There are multiple reports of Sandisk 4TB failing randomly for MAC users. I would just not buy Sandisk as reliability is the most crucial component of any external storage and Sandisk is certainly not reliable.
