not arguing that the gen5 isn't superior, but this v12 is perfect for someone who prefers an ultra-lightweight vacuum.

gen5 is 7.72 lbs
v12 is 5.22 lbs

I was waiting for a deal on the V12, picked one up! I stacked it with the American Express pay with points 40% off (max $60) for another $60 off, makes it a great deal.

Does this include all the accessories of the regular bundle? Seems like it may be missing most of them if you look at "included components" in the details. Also weird that it says "Slim+" and not "Slim". The regular Slim pages lists a ton of accessories under "included components"

V15 goes on sale for $100 more quite often, at least 4X in the last 3 months. A much better model IMO

Picked this up for light weight and push button instead of trigger. Couldn't really tell what Slim vs Slim+ was though…

My mom is in her mid 60s. My father wants her to get a Dyson or the like b/c she's constantly carrying a heavy vacuum around and feels for her.
Would this guy be the right choice? She vacuums the whole house, so it'd have to do the job. Just not sure what is lacking when you go with something this small vs the other options.

How much was your V15? Been looking at that one also. I saw it at Costco for $700, but not sure how much it normally gets discounted.

I have a V8 that came with a ton of accessories when I bought directly from Dyson years ago. It seems like that may be the only way to still get them.

On costco it was for $560. However, deal has been expired. On ebay new/sealed are also sells for this price by private sellers. I have v11 and love it. Now getting v15 for another home.

The only downside of the V12 in my opinion is the smallish bin, however the benefits to that is the lightweight. With that being said I love mine. Having a push button is much better IMO and you can't get that on any other model besides the new gen5. We have no pets and use ours downstairs on hardwood (and over a few area rugs). I keep my fluffy head on most of the time. I only switch it to the motorhead when I sometimes use it upstairs on the carpet and want to get into deeper places my ballhead dyson can't fit. Sometimes I'll vacuum upstairs with the V12 and I have to dump the bin (1-2x) to do the entire floor.
