I prefer the old and slower T5 ssds. These t'7's overheat and slow down really quick.

You might be thinking about the original T7. These are the shield variant. These are durable, better built, speed and don't overheat

I think you should be good. OP might be thinking about the original T7. This is the newer more durable version and doesn't overheat.
