It's deal for what it is. If you really want/need a laser projector and you have a bright room you want to use it in and not overly concerned about color accuracy, this is a solid projector. I had one for a week last year and could not make it look good in my small light-controlled home theater. I also had the issue of super bright red laser light speckling w/ the screen that I had (and did not want to replace - Elite Screens Cinegray 5D) just to suit this projector. For movies in a dark room, I'd suggest the BenQ HT3550 (if you don't have a vision issue w/ DLP projectors) or May shoot for a refurbished Epson 5050UB (I think I've seen new ones on sale close to the the $2K mark not long ago). I had an HT3550 for 3 years, bought this LG and didn't like its performance (but REALLY did like how quickly it booted up and shutdown and how much cooler it ran in my small room than a lamp-based PJ) so ended going all in on an Epson LS11000 laser projector. If you're a crazed cinephile like myself, it's a dream!

TLDR: This projector is best suited for a non-light controlled room, as a replacement to big screen TV and especially good if you do a lot of gaming for its low response time and 120Hz support (a rarity on projectors still these days). If you want color accuracy and contrast, look elsewhere.

For anyone who cares, this is of course Pixel shifting to 4k, not native 4k. This was asked as a question on Amazon and was erroneously answered by the "manufacturer" as native 4k when it is not.

I've bought this and used it for 3 weeks. I am quite happy with it and the clarity. My friend has an epson 5050ub and he is also quite amazed at the clarity and the brightness during daytime/evening.
