They have screwed me twice. Last time was on a BOGO deal, the canceled the free batteries and still charged me full price. Wanted to charge me to return it and had to fight with them to get an RMA. Northern tool are scammers and will never buy from them again

That's too bad you guys have had that happen. I've bought thousands of dollars of tools from them with no issue. There's a store about 10 minutes from me that has everything always fully stocked although the prices are a bit too high in store.

I got the m12 Hatchet chainsaw deal from a year or two back through Northern Tool, for in store pickup. I ended up having to wait about a month after ordering before it finally arrived to the store, with the explanation of a logistics issue that Northern Tool won't ship a store replenishment and online order delivery truck until it's full. It did arrive and I had no issues with the order beyond the extra waiting, but something those ordering for in-store pickup may need to be aware of if you're expecting or need this as soon as possible or in the expected delivery window date. If you get it shipped to you then you pay shipping but it pretty much goes to a carrier the next day and arrives in days.

It looks like the sanding pads are pretty expensive for these and they are a unique shape/size. Has anyone found a generic alternative?

Same here - the m12 inflator deal last year they never sent the inflator and never notified me, it just kept listing back ordered. When I called they claimed everyone was notified and tried to convince me to keep the batteries because it was still "a good deal"

I don't have one yet but assuming they're standard hook and loop, just buy sheets and cut them down.
