NO THANKS BIG BROTHER; this 4 camera set works with Alexa; so you have to sign up for Alexa and the monthly fee: Amazon has a contract with the Pentagon; so now the Pentagon, Army, NSA have a back door to anything in your home that the camera captures. NO THANKS JEFF BEZOS. good deal but not that good, I'll pass

It's difficult to find an IP cam with local storage via SD. No subscription. And then use an app to go and view the footage without having to remove the SD card. I wouldn't take these if they gave them to me. No different than Facebook. The day it went live, DARPA's LifeLog closed its doors.

Google, microsoft, ibm, facebook, amazon, Etc and now soon to be the AI companies and before then other companies, but they all have ties to one thing. They all get big ticket contracts from somebody. There's Unwritten expectations, and then at some point they become written. But honestly at this point the box of Pandora is not only open, but the hinges are off and the wood is shredded.

Yes, they are off. I know about some of these contracts/patents being ex-military. It's always been about surveillance and control. AI is in more than what you think it is or you may already know. Go get a live blood test. It doesn't matter who you are, it will be there. This should open your eyes. I won't share too much more as the comment will be deleted. It probably will anyways.

RTSP and either BlueIris for windows or Frigate for a Linux host. No need for SD storage, no subscription (except blue iris if you want updates). With the right firewall restrictions no need to train Bezos's AI, ship your data to China, or maybe both?

Think they started charging for basic recording. Any recommendations for cam with no subscription?

Thank you! I'll look into it. Can't be as tedious as configuring Check Point firewalls.

Look for cameras with keywords like ONVIF and RTSP. Preferably you'll find some with an RTSP main and substream. I was buying ONVIF cameras willy nilly but as the cheapos die off I've been swapping to ones with a substream and it's worth it. Basically the substream provides lower resolution streams for detection using less hardware for AI to process the motion alerts and then you record on the main stream.
