Model: ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 Wi-Fi 6 Wireless Router
Deal History
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
This router is priced to high and came out way to late in its life cycle for the price they are asking for it. At this price better to just get the Wifi 6E AXE7800 tri band.... When its on sale its also $250.
I ended up buying this at Microcenter earlier today (they pricematched the Amazon and Best Buy price @ $249).
I thought about the AXE7800 as well. I would do it if I intended to do a mesh setup across 6e but I have ethernet lines between my basement and first floor.
The GT-AX6000 has more ram, faster processor (honestly, probably won't notice the speed difference), 2- 2.5Gb ports, an extra USB port, and throughput on the 2.4 Ghz band is double of the AXE7800 (good, especially if you have legacy devices like cams, iot, etc). Both are supposedly really nice routers and would be happy with either one. But I'll probably wait for the 2nd or 3rd gen of WiFi 7 to take advantage of that 6 Ghz band.

It's not all about bands or theoretical speeds. Often it can be worst. This router is excellent!

I never said it wasnt, it is arguably probably one of thee best dual band routers you can get currently.
That being said the AXE7800 has slightly faster speeds in all catergories but 2.4ghz, it has triband making it a better mesh router, and when on sale its the same price. Also the additional antennas would provide more superior coverage compared to the AX6000.
I dont think any dual band router that does not have wifi 6E no matter how good it is, is worth over $200....

Just curious, do you have the ax6000 or just theoretically speaking on its performance?

Dont have it but seen multiple reviews on it from top review websites in the past and the AXE7800 just edged it out in every category but 2.4ghz performance.
Went over the AX6000 pretty decently a few months ago when walmart had the clearance sale on them for around $100. Unfortunately could not get my hands on it, and the little brother was not worth it for a little less.

$100 for the ax6000 would be a great deal. When you say little brother version, is that the asus ax5700u and it was less than $100 on sale?

I think the clearance price was like $125 but it was very YMMV. The little brother was actually the ROG STRIX GS-AX5400 ($70ish) and AX3000 ($50ish) in late 2021/early 2022 and it was actually in mid to late 2022 (time flies) not a few months ago that they popped up on Walmart clearance but it had to be limited to a few stores cause it was impossible to find in IL.

I got the AX3000 for $50 from Walmart I dunno when well over a year ago iirc
Got the GT-AX6000 open box from amazon warehouse for $160 a bit over a month ago and change
the Ax3000 is dang good for the price if you got the Walmart clearance deal when that went down, but Ax6000 been a nice upgrade for me!
very impressive range and I think better at handling upper 20 clients at any given moment

IMO stay on 3.0.0.4 fw, the newest 3.0.0.6 that came out seemed to have some quirks:
