To make this deal sweeter, there are Pixel Superfan codes floating around that will give you a $50 credit to the Google store with a purchase of a Pixel 7a, fyi. Might be able to find one with a google search.
This could be worth it for some people just to have a fresh battery. That said, I bought a 5a and ended up returning it due to the size. I wear a size Large glove and still could not get used to the 5a, and 7a has similar dimensions. For me, the height of the 5a felt top heavy and the width was more difficult to manage when using the keyboard with one hand.

Info from GSM Arena:

4a:
144 x 69.4 x 8.2 mm (5.67 x 2.73 x 0.32 in)
143 g (5.04 oz)

5a:
156.2 x 73.2 x 8.8 mm (6.15 x 2.88 x 0.35 in)
183 g (6.46 oz)

7a:
152 x 72.9 x 9 mm (5.98 x 2.87 x 0.35 in)
193.5 g (6.84 oz)

Tried to get used to the Pixel 5a for about 2 weeks, when I returned it there was a ~$35 restocking fee IIRC.

all pixels or just more recent ones? I use the 4a / google maps for directions, it never lagged to make me miss a turn or anything like that. That said, I also play pokemon go and the 4a was solid for over a year and then out of nowhere it started mistakenly placing me in different locations, usually nearby but sometimes quite far from where I was standing. It now happens much less frequently - hard to blame the phone though since it never happens in google maps.
They're offering me only $155 for my 4a5g. ($10 less than the older 4a) That makes absolutely no sense. I passed on a better trade in deal for a Pixel 7 because I want the smaller 7a. I forget what the final price was, but it was closer to $200.

Is the GPS on the Pixel phones really as bad as the negative reviews claim?

Google usually will offer you one last very good trade in value offer close to the end of the software security updates date, for the 4a non-5g that's next month: https://support.google.com/nexus/...-a-a-g-a-g

You could wait til Black Friday when the 8 should be out but I'm not sure the trade in offer for a 4a non-5g will be higher than this?

My pixel 4a 5g crapped the bed yesterday. Pretty sure it was a bad july update. Corruption error and bootlooping, and I can't flash a factory image because I didn't have oem-unlock enabled.
Was going to upgrade earlier, but they were only offering $40, so now I gotta buy a 7a anyways. FML.

I was able to get the 6a for only $150 after trading in my 4a5g for $50. Overall I've been enjoying the phone even with the change of placement of the fingerprint reader.

They're offering $170 for the 5a. I really like my 5a battery life but 7a seems like a nice upgrade. Just not sure its a ~$280 upgrade.

My 7 is...... pretty bad. It has a problem keeping a lock on the GPS coordinates, so after making a turn it'll think I kept going straight, etc. It's one of the downgrades I found from my OP 8.

That being said, the price I paid for it was astounding since I got it on the Mint deal several months ago. Any of the other Pixel deals I see here just can't compare to that.

I've now had to bring 5a5g to ubreakifix twice for "black screen of death" issue, for which google provides special extended 1 year warranty. This second time they cant even repair it due to lack of parts. Its a good phone, but...
will try to trade it in, if only i could have done it a few weeks ago when I could say "it was in working condition"....

My P6 Pro's connectivity issues were too much to bear so I pulled the trigger and ordered the coral P7a earlier this week...typing this on it right now. And I can tell you that the coral color is AMAZING. Sometimes comes off as pale/luminescent orange under brighter or LED lighting, sometimes a darker, richer orange under more ambient light. The orange aluminum side rails and camera bar look really cool, too. I had the Oh So Orange P4 and loved that...the coral P7a is as good if not better.
