I have only 50" width, any has any experience to reducing the width? Likely it seems I will need to shorten the rods by 7" or so

You could most likely make it work just use the one top rack, you might could use it sideways and just one set of shelves. You could use the two rods to hold the rods.

Not perfect but it should work. They include a mounting piece of plastic you could hook to the wall.

You would then have more selves if you want. Or you could possibly use them elsewhere with the extra rods left.

It should be possible. The clothes hanger rod and the upper shelves are going to be the limiting factors to work around.

I just put 2 of these together (different brand from Amazon, I wish they were this price) for my daughter's closet.

Once you build the two side towers and get them in place, you should be able to pull the hanger rod apart and shorten both sections with a hacksaw to fit your available width.

For the top overhang shelves, you have a few options. 1. You could just leave one of them off and adjust the other shelves around to put a regular square one on top. 2. You could turn one or both of them sideways so that they stick out away from the wall (assuming you have room and that you install the anti-tip anchor). 3. Variation of #1 - you could put one of the long shelves down lower, either as extra storage below hanging clothes, or just stagger them up top by 1 notch so that they overlap one another.

Now that I think of it, not sure this idea is feasible

It should be feasible, but you'd want to set the crossbars that support the hanger rod one notch lower to leave clearance.

They should have made it a dual rack.

Back in school, I bought two kits, and had the 2 racks stacked above each other in the middle.

for the 2nd kit without the clothing rack, I just made 2 extra shelves for food and kitchen stuff
